OpenCart developer for existing shops
If you need to hire an OpenCart developer for a shop that is already running, I can fix errors, adapt extensions, connect payments and shipping. First I check the shop and tell you in writing what I would do and what it would cost. This is free. I work on my own, so you talk to me directly.
What I do with OpenCart
I work with OpenCart shops, including very old versions such as 1.5. Typical requests:
- on a phone the text and buttons are too small;
- a menu link leads to an error page or the cart fails;
- payment methods and couriers need to be connected;
- products need to be uploaded with Lithuanian descriptions;
- the shop is old and nobody wants to touch it.
Where I have done this
- siuvimomanija.lt. An OpenCart shop online since 2010. I updated it: automatic shipping cost calculation, card payment and SEO.
- e.segris.lt. An old hunting gear shop on OpenCart 1.5: a new look for phones and computers, SSL (HTTPS) fixed, Lithuanian product descriptions with photos and video.
- A long-term client: for two years I have looked after six of its websites (siuvimomanija.lt, husqvarna-viking.lt, babylock.lt, elna.lt, siuvimomasina.lt and juki.lv).
Screenshots are in the Past work section.
Errors and a slow shop
If you need someone to fix your OpenCart shop, I take care of broken links (404), system (PHP) errors, a cart that does not work and order emails that never arrive. I also work on making slow pages open faster. OpenCart help starts with a check: I see what is broken and tell you in writing what I would fix. More: Fix online store errors.
Whether to move to a newer OpenCart version, I tell you after the check; see OpenCart upgrade. I do not promise in advance that OpenCart 4 or a newer PHP version will suit your shop.
Extensions and customisation
I adapt your current theme: banners, menus, new pages and forms. I make the shop work well on phones: easy-to-read text, and a menu, product pages and cart that are comfortable to use with one hand. After the check we can agree that a design change keeps your existing page addresses.
Whether a specific extension or theme can be fixed, I tell you after the check. Licences for paid extensions and themes are not included in the price: you buy them, and we agree beforehand whether they are needed.
Payments and shipping
I connect payment methods and couriers, and if they are already installed but not working, I repair them. I set up automatic shipping cost calculation, free shipping above a chosen amount and label printing from the admin panel.
Translation and Lithuanian language
I handle OpenCart translation into Lithuanian: untranslated labels and wrong translations, so customers see everything in Lithuanian. I upload products with Lithuanian descriptions, photos, videos and SEO settings, and import products from a supplier's XML, CSV or Excel file.
How I work safely
First I check the shop and tell you in writing what I would do and what it would cost. This is free. Then I make a backup, test the changes in a test copy, and move them to your live shop after checking. While I work, your shop runs as usual. More under How I work.
The price is agreed before we start, and you pay in instalments. We can issue a VAT invoice. What monthly maintenance covers is described on the maintenance page.
What I do not work on
I do not work on Shopify, Wix or Squarespace shops, because these systems do not provide access to the files. This page is for OpenCart shops that are already running; other systems are in the services section.
Questions
How much does an OpenCart developer cost?
The price depends on the job, so I first check the shop and tell you in writing what I would do and what it would cost. This is free. The price is agreed before I start, you pay in instalments, and we can issue a VAT invoice.
Can you customise an OpenCart theme or extension?
Yes, as far as it is possible in the specific case. I adapt your current theme for phones, change banners and menus, add new pages and forms, and update extensions for old systems. Whether a specific extension can be fixed, I tell you after the check. Licences for paid extensions and themes are not included in the price: you buy them.
Can you translate OpenCart into Lithuanian?
Yes. I fix untranslated labels and wrong translations in the shop, so customers see everything in Lithuanian. I upload products with Lithuanian descriptions, photos and videos.
What access do you need to start?
I need access to the admin panel, the website files (FTP or SFTP) and the database, usually through your hosting control panel (DirectAdmin, cPanel or Plesk).
How do we communicate?
In writing, by email and messages. The email address is in the footer; the phone number for messages is on the homepage.
