Payment and courier integrations for online stores

I connect payment providers and couriers to OpenCart and WooCommerce shops that are already trading. Customers can pay through Paysera or Montonio. If the module allows it, you can register shipments from orders in the Omniva, DPD, LP Express or Venipak system under your own contract with the carrier, so addresses do not have to be retyped. If a module is installed but not working, I repair it. I also work with old OpenCart 1.5 and 2.x shops.

Get in touch if a customer has paid but the order status has not changed, if the checkout shows no shipping price or parcel locker list, or if a payment method disappeared after an update. First I review the shop and set out in writing what I would do and what it would cost. This is free.

Paysera: payment by bank or card

With Paysera, customers pay through their own bank or by card, and the shop receives confirmation that the money has arrived. I connect Paysera to OpenCart and WooCommerce shops:

  • install the module that suits your shop version and enter the project details from your Paysera account;
  • set the order status after a successful and after a failed payment, so paid orders are visible straight away;
  • check that order emails reach both you and the customer.

If Paysera is already connected but customers see an error, or paid orders stay “Pending”, I identify the cause and resolve it.

Montonio

Montonio is a payment provider: the customer picks their bank at checkout or pays by card. On WooCommerce, Montonio is connected through Montonio’s own plugin. On OpenCart it depends on the version, so after the check I will advise whether it can be done and how.

Montonio can sit next to Paysera as an extra payment method or replace it – your choice. I also connect Stripe or PayPal, and bank transfer against a pro forma invoice.

Omniva: parcel lockers and shipping labels

With Omniva on WooCommerce or OpenCart, the customer chooses a parcel locker from a list at checkout, and the order shows you which locker to send to. Omniva lockers are in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Where the module supports it, customers in Latvia and Estonia can also pick a locker in their own country.

Some modules let you register the shipment in Omniva’s system and print the label from the order, so you no longer type addresses in by hand on the courier’s website. This needs your own account and agreement with Omniva.

DPD

DPD delivers by courier to a home or office, and to DPD Pickup lockers and pickup points. I install and configure the OpenCart DPD module, or the DPD plugin for WooCommerce. The customer picks a delivery option at checkout, and, where the module supports it, you create the shipment from the order.

The courier price can be set by product weight or order total, as explained under Automatic shipping price calculation.

LP Express: parcel lockers and courier

LP Express is the parcel service of Lithuanian Post: parcel lockers, courier and delivery to a post office. I connect LP Express to WooCommerce and OpenCart, so customers can choose a locker or courier delivery at checkout.

If the shop already has several delivery options, I put them in a clear sequence and give them clear names at checkout, so customers see at a glance how they differ and what each costs.

Venipak

Venipak delivers by courier and to pickup points and lockers across the Baltic states. I connect Venipak on its own or alongside other couriers.

Several couriers can run at once, for example Venipak to the door and Omniva lockers. The customer picks what suits them, and each option shows its own price at checkout.

Payments and couriers for old OpenCart 1.5 and 2.x shops

The official module from a payment provider or courier may be built only for newer OpenCart versions and not fit an old shop. There are a few ways forward:

  • adapt a module to your OpenCart version;
  • find another module that works with your version;
  • upgrade the shop to a newer OpenCart version.

After the check, I will set out which route I recommend and what it would cost. Moving to a newer version is covered on the OpenCart upgrade page. Whether to keep an old shop or move it is easier to decide with the guide to OpenCart 1.5.

I have worked on old versions before. e.segris.lt is an old OpenCart 1.5 shop: I gave it a new look for phones and computers, fixed SSL (HTTPS, a secure connection) and added Lithuanian product descriptions with photos and video. Screenshots are in the Past work section.

Automatic shipping price calculation

When every customer sees the same shipping price, light parcels are overcharged and you cover part of the cost of heavy ones. The shop can work out the shipping price itself:

  • by product weight;
  • by order total;
  • by destination country;
  • with free shipping above an amount you choose.

The customer sees the shipping price in the cart before paying.

One example is siuvimomanija.lt, an OpenCart shop online since 2010 that I updated. Its shipping cost is calculated automatically, and customers can pay by card. The company is a long-term client: for two years I have looked after six of its websites.

How I work

  1. I review and send a proposal. I check the shop, its version and the installed modules, and set out in writing what I would do and what it would cost. This is free.
  2. I make a backup copy. I copy the whole website and the database, so I can restore everything if needed.
  3. I connect it in a test copy. I install and configure the modules in a test copy and run an order from cart to payment and shipment. Your shop keeps running as usual.
  4. I move it over after checking. Once everything is checked, I move the changes to your live shop and test an order once more.

What you get

  • Customers choose payment and delivery at checkout.
  • If the payment module supports it, the order is marked as paid in the shop when the customer pays.
  • The shipping price is visible before payment.
  • Where the module supports it, you register the shipment in the courier’s system and print the label from the order, with no addresses retyped.

I need access to the admin panel, the website files (FTP or SFTP) and the database, for example through your hosting control panel (DirectAdmin, cPanel or Plesk). The login details for the modules come from your own accounts with the payment provider and courier.

The price is agreed before I start, and you pay in instalments. We can issue a VAT invoice.

Questions

Can an old OpenCart 1.5 or 2.x shop accept card payments and show courier prices?

It depends on the version and on what has been changed in the shop. The official module may be built for a newer OpenCart version; then I adapt a module to your version or suggest another route, such as an upgrade. After the free check, I will advise whether and how it can be done in your shop.

How do I connect Omniva, DPD or LP Express to WooCommerce?

Through a plugin from the courier or another developer. Once it is installed, you enter the login details from your courier account, set the shipping prices and test an order. If you would rather not do it yourself, I set it up in a test copy and move it to your shop after checking.

Why did my payment module stop working after an update?

One possible reason is that the module was written for an older OpenCart, WooCommerce or PHP version and no longer works with the new one. Sometimes the module settings are lost in the update, or the payment provider has changed how shops connect to it. I identify the cause in a test copy, then update or repair the module.
